If there’s anything you absolutely need to know about working in fashion, it’s that each day is a fast-
paced jumble of meetings, events, more meetings, and yet another event…and somewhere in
between, you have to find time to do the work you’re actually paid to do. Oh, and then you have those
pesky things like eating and sleeping.
But, can you imagine what it would be like to work in fashion and have a side job? We picked the brains of some of the industry’s busiest ladies to see how they stay sane at their 9-to-5 (or 6, or 7, or 8…) and make room for another gig, too. Learn how these multitaskers stay calm, collected, and chic all at once.

Can we just say how much we are loving Gwyneth Paltrow’s beauty tutorials? Along with Lauren Conrad and the girls over at The Beauty Department, Gwynnie’s Goop is doing a spectacular job of combining her unique access to beauty’s best minds with fun, relatable how-tos that actually teach you something useful.
The latest in this series is a detailed breakdown on how to create a bevy of basic hairstyles on your own, for curly and straight manes. Gwyneth’s across-the-pond stylist George Northwood helpfully coaches each of the models through their hair how-tos, showing them (and you) the proper techniques and products required for everything from the perfect blow-out to a summer-ready beach bun. Definitely worth a click to check it out and brush up on your strand-styling skills. (Goop)
