What were your first pair of jeans?
K: “Gap kids?”
What are you wearing?
K: “Mavericks jean jacket. My friend Lyz Oko from Obesity and Speed gave me this Jacket, and my friend Raquel from Wrecked and Grey made my dress. Vintage Men’s Jean Jacket. I stole this jacket from Richie, and now I wear it every day.”
R: “These are ’70s Deadstock Levi’s. I just happened to be wearing a full-denim outfit when you guys asked me to be in the photo.”
How many pairs of jeans do you own?
K: “I own five pairs of jeans and two jean jackets.”
Do you have a preferred philosophy when it comes to jeans: Sexy and skinny, or loose and comfy?
K: “I like the tight jeans for sure, they fit like a glove. I do like baggy men’s jean jackets, though.”
R: “Tighter, I guess.”
Used or new?
K: “Used jackets, new pants.”
What’s your signature wash…or does it matter?
K: “Black or dark denim.”
R: “Dark or raw denim.”
What’s your favorite way to wear your jeans and with what?
K: “Jean jacket and baby-doll dress… High-waisted jeans with a white or black T-shirt.”
R: “On my legs and around my waist.”
If your jeans had a name or theme song, what would it be? Or do they?
K: “Rod Stewart, ‘You Wear It Well.’”
R: “Guards, ‘Sail It Slow.’”
Favorite example of celebrity-jean wearing (i.e., Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the USA album cover)?
K: “Cry Baby Walker with his cuffed straight-leg Levi’s, black Frye boots, white T-shirt, and black motorcycle jacket. Mmm.”
R: “Marlon Brando in Wild Ones.
What do you love most about your favorite denim pieces?
K: “My jacket can be thrown over any dress I wear. I wear dresses because it’s only one piece of clothing and it’s a complete outfit. My jean jacket goes with everything, and I can layer under or over it in case it’s cold.”
R: “That I don’t have to wash them.”
